But as much as we’d like to believe that this is how the world judges beauty, it is a far cry from the reality of how we perceive it. Today I’m showcasing the world of Beauty Blogs. And as you will see, beauty is as beauty does.

The beauty we associate with Beauty Blogs is, at first glance, only skin deep. But as with all blogs, there’s always more to them than meets the eye. Beauty blogs cover everything to do with cosmetics, skincare, and hair care.

Beauty blogs are more than just make-up tips and product reviews. They provide an essential service. Beauty bloggers offer helpful information and resources on how to look after your outside so you can feel better on the inside. Like it or not, beauty blogs firmly install the concept that beauty is something you can get through external means, and at a cost.

But trends show that consumers of beauty products are more discerning than ever before. Cosmetics companies that want to catch the millennial and Gen Z market must give back in some way and carry eco-conscious products. Eco-conscious products are cruelty-free, kind on the skin, and kind to the planet.

But there is still a long way to go to get to a place where ALL beauty products are cruelty-free.

Today’s beauty bloggers care about where their products come from and how they get tested. The cosmetic industry is looking a lot “greener” than it was 20 years ago, so there’s an enormous emphasis on natural ingredients and cruelty-free products. Vegan cosmetics are becoming more popular too.
In fact, the best beauty blogs are those that approach beauty holistically, with an “as within, so without” attitude.

Beauty blogs also feature health, wellness, fitness, and nutrition. So they refer to health blogs, fitness blogs, and food blogs. But the main attraction is, of course, the makeup tutorials and advice that beauty bloggers share with their target audience. The most visited beauty blogs are very much like best lifestyle blogs. They cover a wide range of topics.

Kate’s beauty best personal blog is a breath of fresh air. She loves yoga, whole foods, and natural beauty. Her beauty blog is a joy to behold! Cos it’s so well laid-out. It’s clean and structured. Kate sells Doterra products as an affiliate. So there’s a section that tells you everything you need to know about these products and the company. Her blog has the following sections:

Clean ingredients are things that can be natural or synthetic; they get produced in an eco-conscious way. And the actual components are not harmful to the skin or the environment. And, of course, they have not been tested on animals. Their best-selling product is a loose powder blush made from only five mineral ingredients!

The “How To” section also goes to the blog. You’ll also find a wealth of video tutorials.

This is possibly the web’s best online database of products and what’s in them. If you have a cupboard of products that you are not sure of, you just type in the ingredient you want to find out about. All the blog posts featuring that ingredient will come up.

The section titled EWG Verified will take you to the site’s database. Here you can type in an ingredient, product, or brand. If you type in a single component, you’ll get a list of products that contain that ingredient. The scoring system is from 1-10.

This is the goldmine of beauty blogs. It gets 10/10 for content and 10/10 for accurate, trustworthy info on 1000s of products.
